Use the fourth slot to cover the rescue or control job the trio cannot provide.
- Cost or tradeoff
- A tighter formation reaches distant targets more slowly, but it prevents one isolated Operator from becoming the Mission-ending loss.
- Change when
- Switch to the named Operator branch as soon as one of the three loses cover, becomes isolated, or is Downed.
- Recovery
- If one is Downed and the Mission continues, control the route before using Rally. Do not expose a second protected Operator to force an immediate rescue.
- Completion signal
- All three protected Operators remain alive, and the squad still has a safe route to the current objective.
- Next action
- Open the exact Mission record, read the failure line once, then launch with the fourth Operator assigned to the missing rescue or control job.

Follow the campaign-active result
Use only the recovery path the current result screen presents. Before another attempt, change the opening route and rescue assignment.
- Cost or tradeoff
- The failed attempt identifies one unsafe lane, but the current rules do not define a universal restart, checkpoint, or squad-retention path.
- Change when
- Return to the squad decision if the same protected Operator fails again before the team establishes a safe Rally route.
- Recovery
- Follow the visible recovery, then assign the fourth Operator to protect the first person who was isolated or unable to receive Rally.
- Completion signal
- The campaign remains available and one concrete positioning or rescue change is recorded before the next attempt.
- Next action
- Reopen the Mission briefing, name the first unsafe lane from the failed attempt, and assign its counter.
Follow the Beskar result screen
Read the result screen before leaving it. A Beskar Game Over is a campaign-ending result with no manual-save recovery under the current rule.
- Cost or tradeoff
- The ended campaign cannot be repaired by changing the opening squad or route.
- Change when
- Use the campaign-active state when the result screen does not declare Game Over.
- Recovery
- For Game Over, return to the campaign settings decision before another attempt. For an active campaign, follow only the recovery shown on screen.
- Completion signal
- The result is classified as campaign active or Game Over, and no unsupported recovery path is assumed.
- Next action
- Review the exact Beskar boundary before committing to another Beskar campaign.

Use the Injury triage before risking an already weakened protected Operator. - Give the fourth Operator one missing job: protect a route, control an attacker, or Rally without exposing another protected Operator. Use the four-job squad decision if that job is blank.
- Mark one tile or covered route from which a healthy Operator can reach each protected member.
- Decide which enemy or attack lane must be controlled before Rally. The closest rescuer is not useful if the same attack can Down them next.
- Confirm the Campaign’s current Beskar state. This page does not choose campaign settings; the Campaign settings decision owns that package.
Launch condition
Launch when every protected Operator has a safe first position, one ally can reach the current danger point, and the fourth Operator has a named rescue or control job.
Separate Downed from killed
The exact Mission failure line says killed. It does not say that every Downed state is already Mission Failed. The current combat rules say: A Downed Operator is incapable of continuing to fight and suffers an Injury. An Operator who suffers enough Injuries is permanently killed. They also say: Rallying a Downed Operator will restore them to the fight and allow them to take actions again.
Use this sequence while the Mission remains active:
- Stop spending attacks and movement that do not protect the Downed Operator or the objective.
- Remove, control, or break sight with the enemy covering the rescue route.
- Rally only when the rescuer and recovered Operator will not take the same immediate attack.
- Reposition the recovered Operator before returning to the elimination objective.

Recover after failure
First read the result on screen. Mission Failed and Game Over are different recovery states.
| Result | Recovery | Boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Mission Failed, Campaign active | Follow only the recovery shown on the current result screen, then repair the unsafe route before another attempt. | The current rules do not define a universal restart, checkpoint, or same-squad recovery path. |
| Game Over in Beskar Mode | Return to the Campaign settings decision before another attempt. | One persistent save remains in use; manual saving is disabled, and a crucial Mission failure can end the Campaign. |
| Mission remains active after a Downed state | Secure the route and Rally. | Rally restores the Operator to the fight; it does not turn the exact killed condition into a harmless state. |
If the campaign remains active, follow the recovery the result screen actually offers and change the unsafe route. If the result is Game Over, do not invent a manual-save path that the mode disables.
Confirm the win
The challenge is complete only when both conditions are true:
- Wipe out the pirates on Lothal.
